On Friday March 20, an accidental fire occurred at Hunt’s Automotive in Laurel, DE. John Hunt has owned this business in this location for many years. Many of you may have even had him work on your vehicles. Not only was this his business, but part of the building is his residence. The fire quickly destroyed much of the main shop including tools, equipment and personal possessions. The other part of the shop for the offices and living area was heavily damaged with smoke. John is a humble man and does not ask for much as he does not want to be a burden to others.
A benefit show is scheduled for April 11th from 7:30pm – 10:30pm at the Elks Lodge at 5 Taft Court, Rockville, MD with The Bobby Lewis Blues Band (feat. Joe Simpson). Please come! It’s $20 or $10 if you bring a dish to share.
A GoFundMe page was also started by his son Shawn to raise funds, to get him back on his feet, andto cover expenses over the next few months, including repairs, food and shelter. We are not sure where the shop will go from here, but we know God has a plan in all things and that John will begin to pick up the pieces and move forward. If you can, Shawn is asking that you please donate if you can. Many have stopped by the shop to show their support and this is also much appreciated. He has a long journey ahead, but with all of our help, we hope to give him a jump start. Thank you for your consideration and prayers.
